International Volunteer Day 2019

Today, the 5th of December 2019 we celebrate the International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development, so let’s take a moment to celebrate our volunteers who are helping our work with devotion, and on regular basis – sometimes visibly, sometimes from behind the scenes – they are not discouraged by heat, rain, or cold, they work with constant enthusiasm to better the lives of the lonely and the needy, and to make our environment cleaner and healthier. We would like to say thanks to all our wonderful volunteers!

Santa has visited our elderly homes in Oradea

The appearance of an unexpected guest has brightened the day of the residents of both Caritas elderly homes in Oradea. Santa Claus has arrived at dinner-time with a full bag, to distribute sweets to the residents and employees of the elderly homes run by Caritas Catolica.

The shiny eyes, thankful smiles and overwhelming enthusiasm of our beneficiaries proves again that the second childhood is as important as the first one in a human life.

In St. Martins Elderly Home the short celebration was dedicated to the loving memory of a former resident, mrs. Erzsike, who has recently passed away. Thanks for the contribution of her relatives. Special thanks to our long time friends and sponsors Jan and Coby Willemsen from Stichting Steungroep Nederland Roemenie, who donated a professional dryer to the elderly home. Also thanks to the Franciscan Sisters of Mallersdorf for the donated sweets which were distributed in St. Elisabeth Elderly Home.
