We are deeply saddened to learn that our dear friend Tünder Löchli, of the Caritas organization in Satu Mare, has passed away tragically. Shee was an extraordinary individual who showed us the way both humanly and professionally. She has managed the work of the Caritas organization in Satu Mare for two decades, and she also helped Caritas in Oradea a lot with her friendly attitude and expertise. She was always giving and giving. With her innovative spirit, caritas of Satu Mare prospered under her management.

We have learnt with sorrow in our hearts, that our long-time benefactor, and good friend, Jaap Stellingwerff (from Boskoop, the Netherlands) has recently passed away at age of 80.

Tonight, the flames of solidarity were lit once again in Oradea, during the One Million Stars event 2021, which, due to the epidemiological situation, was held with closed gates, in the garden of St. Elizabeth's Elderly Home, with only a few invited guests.

On 1st of October, the inhabitants of the two Caritas elderly homes in Oradea, have celebrated the International Day of the Older Persons in an unusual way, joining the so-called "Granny" program of the CE Association, giving lifelong advice and messages to students from several local secondary schools.

On Wednesday, September 15th, the volunteers of the Caritas Catolica Association distributed donations in the form of school supplies to the community of the Lucreția Suciu Secondary School in Oradea, made up mostly of roma children. The seven crates and dozens of other school bags filled with school supplies came from the Austrian sponsors of Caritas Catolica, following the summer charity collection of the permanent deacon Peter Zidar and the parish community Maria Ansbach. The packages included watercolors, notebooks, stationery, toys, school bags, folders, clothing and other educational equipment.

As the last stop of their week-long tour of Transylvania, a delegation from Hungary led by Dr. Szakács Ferenc Sándor, the coordinator in charge of the church and civil affairs of the Deputy State Secretariat for Social Inclusion, and Tibor Rácz, referent to the Deputy Secretary of State for National Policy, also paid a visit to the headquarters of Caritas Catolica Association in Oradea on the 30th of July, Friday.

Two high-quality musical performances were performed this week in the garden of st. Elizabeth's Elderly Home in Oradea, managed by the Caritas Catolica Association.

An important principle of Caritas Catolica's activities is to provide assistance to all those in need as much as possible, regardless of their nationality or religious affiliation. In this spirit, aid packages were distributed to those in need, with the occasion of both Catholic and Orthodox Easter Holidays.
